Dynisco has realigned the company into divisions serving specific market segments, including plastics, rubber and industrial. The industrial segment consists of two sub-segments: oil and gas, and “general industrial,” which includes life sciences, sanitary, aerospace, water/wastewater, test and control, etc. The new Dynisco structure also incorporates dedicated product managers for each business segment in an effort to grow the business more quickly.
The new industrial segment will focus on product development and customer service in one of Dynisco’s most important markets, which makes up a substantial portion of the company’s sensor business.
“This new company organization not only will help us provide a more intense focus on the markets and customers we serve, but will also provide a more focused approach to growth on a global basis,” said Ken “KB” Brown, Dynisco’s president. “Changing our business model will allow us to have a more market-focused, customer facing company.”
“Our goal is to address our customers with an industry or market attention that allows us to get closer to them by understanding their unique business/application needs,” said David Shepard, vice president of the new industrial business segment. “We have strong industrial sensor brands including Viatran, Dynisco and DJ Instruments that all have unique attributes. We’re excited with the creation of this new segment and we’re confident we are better equipped than ever to serve our industrial customers.”
New Personnel Appointments
As part of the restructuring within the Industrial Segment, Dynisco announces the following appointments to newly created positions:
%#149 David Shepard – vice president, industrial segment – Shepard joined Dynisco in January 2008 as the leader of this new segment. He joins the Dynisco team with over 30 years of experience within the automation market where he has held various positions within business unit, sales and marketing management. His most recent position was vice president of product marketing for Invensys Process Systems.
%#149 Douglas Joy – oil and gas segment leader – Joy has been with Dynisco for 8 years, having held various sales and product management leadership roles. He was most recently a member of the leadership team that managed the transition from private equity ownership to successful integration within the Roper family.
%#149 Neil Riordan – general industrial segment leader – Riordan has been the driving force behind the sales growth for the Viatran business for over 25 years.
%#149 Jan Matthews – director of business development – Matthews leads the effort for defining new markets and customer opportunities for the industrial segment. Jan joined the Dynisco/Viatran team in 2007 from Druck in a similar capacity and has already contributed to the inception of several new designs.
%#149 Mike LaFleur – product manager – LaFleur is responsible for the commercialization of new products and the overall management of the industrial segment product portfolio including products under the Dynisco, Viatran and DJ Instruments brands. Prior to joining Dynisco in February 2008, he worked in similar positions as a product manager for AT&T, VCentrix and Avidyne.
